what is adhd life coaching

ADHD Life Coaching is curiosity and exploration into
self-discovery and deeper awareness."

How often do you feel stuck? Is your mind racing with thoughts no one around you would get? Is your body in motion all the time? Do you lose your motivation if you’re not interested in the task at hand? Have you been called lazy or stupid or hyper? Do you have a sign on your back that says “trouble”? Do you forget where you put essential items like your keys or your homework? Are you the one rushing into school or work frazzled appearing chaotic? When medication, counseling, or internet search solutions do not unleash your ADHD potential, take action by partnering with an ADHD Life Coach to find your inside answers. Partnering with an ADHD Life Coach is to have someone in your corner, asking you the hard questions your mind may otherwise be blocked to ask yourself. With a life coach, you will work together with your coach to collaborate in self-discovery. This process will offer an opportunity to gain greater self-awareness, moving you towards your working solutions.

Working with an ADHD Life Coach is different from working with a counselor, tutor, or a general life coach. Each role can be vitally important in self-discovery. A counselor tends to look back at your experiences with you to help give insight into why you are who you are. This insight can be useful in understanding yourself. A tutor provides extra support for learning so you can get where you want to go—A life Coach partners with you to pave the road ahead. But, if you have ADHD or are struggling with key executive function deficits, you may need more insight. An ADHD Life Coach has focused training on the neurobiology of ADHD and the brain’s executive functioning areas. With this specific training, an ADHD Coach can help a client pinpoint what is getting in the way and create systems and tools that may meet client needs and goals. A Life Coach with a specialty in ADHD can help both neurotypical, and ADHD wired individuals understand how their brain functions with their goals and needs in mind. An ADHD brain is not working wrong simply differently, and an ADHD Life Coach understands this.

The coaching relationship is an empowering collaboration built between a Client and their Coach set forth to uncover the inside answers awaiting within you.

What is ADHD Life Coaching?

ADHD Life Coaching forms a partnership without judgment or a predetermined outcome. The desired outcome is entirely up to the client. This partnership offers clients a safe space to take ownership of themselves to move towards getting what they need and want. Through powerful questioning, clients gain clarity within themselves and their world. Clients work with their Coach to discover their strategies, tools, and techniques specific to their needs. Useful client-driven strategies, tools, and coping skills awaken for greater ease in daily living. Clients equip themselves to get things done and succeed. ADHD not only impacts individuals but the entire family. Individuals and families benefit from ADHD Life Coaching through self-discovery of how ADHD affects them and their loved ones. ADHD affects key executive functioning areas of the brain and can wreak havoc on individuals and those connected to them.

How then is one to manage? Although ADHD medication can help, it is not a one size fits all approach. Whether or not clients choose to manage their ADHD with medication, there is a considerable life-long benefit from the self-discovery afforded in partnering with an ADHD Life Coach.

In recent years, ADHD has become more prevalent in the United States. More individuals are seeking diagnosis later in their lives as their ADHD symptoms affect their abilities to succeed. ADHD is not a childhood disorder that one will outgrow if given enough time to catch up with peers. ADHD Life Coaching offers the insight to move forward with greater self-awareness through self-discovered strategies and tools. Success happens!

In a Nutshell. The Short of It.
The "It" being ADHD!

ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. ADHD is the correct term despite some calling it ADD. ADHD has three main types: predominantly inattentive, predominantly hyperactive/impulsive, and combined type.

For the typical person experiencing times of being inattentive, impulsive, or hyperactivity is not uncommon. However, children and adults with ADHD experience repeated symptoms that negatively impact their successes in social situations, at home, school, or work.

ADHD is a medical disorder, often requiring long-term maintenance. The causes of ADHD are unknown, but researchers believe it may be caused in part by a chemical imbalance in the brain.

Only medical doctors or other healthcare professionals can accurately diagnose ADHD.

Nearly 17 million Americans are estimated to be affected by ADHD. How can you visualize this many people? The New York state population in 2020 reportedly is just over 19.8 million people. ADHD is real. Gaining an understanding of ADHD is essential to creating successful daily living habits.
