ADHD is a brain difference. Doctors have studied and shown ADHD’s real presence in early life-lasting into adulthood and its genetic potential to be passed down in generations. Without the brain, we would not breathe, walk or talk, and more. With ADHD, there are many other real-life tasks that the brain takes care of with little effort non-ADHDer’s take for granted. I am wondering how you are taking care of your brain? ADHD or neurotypical?

You can benefit from focused brain care whether you struggle with a neuro-difference or just try to do life better with greater ease. Have you put your brain health first?

I bet, on average, people take better care of their teeth than their brains. How often do you think, “Oh, I forgot to brush my teeth.” Have you ever thought, “I’m going to go to bed now so my brain can sort my day and recharge?” Hmmm, I’m thinking that is not your top thought when it comes to sleep.

We have either not been taught, learned, or chosen to value our most vital organ- the brain. I believe we have learned to dismiss our mental needs. Brain care is mental health. Unfortunately, mental health has not come to the forefront as heart health or even diabetes. Mental health carries a stigma and has been framed with negativity. As a community, we can value our minds and the fantastic creations and work that can come from the brain. But, first, it is essential to care for our brain.

How can you make a conscious choice to make your brain health a priority? Don’t let your ADHD symptoms, executive functioning challenges, or even stress hamper your strengths.

This is written with care and a firm belief that our minds are precious gems to be cared for and valued. Choose to protect your most vital organ- The Brain! Please share this if you know someone who needs a boost in valuing their brain care as much as they do brushing their teeth. I know some of our clan don’t much value tooth brushing either, but the world is open to acknowledging its worth. Let’s place worth on our brain! Please share this post to help me slay the stigma surrounding brain health.
