I’m perplexed by the human brain. It is the one organ we still don’t have fully figured out. What we do know so far is:

1. The brain is constantly changing in response to experience, a process called neuroplasticity.

2. The brain contains about 100 billion neurons, which are nerve cells. These neurons are connected to each other by synapses, which can change with experience.

3. Your brain’s storage capacity is considered immense. Research suggests the human brain consists of about 86 billion neurons. Each neuron forms connections to other neurons, which could add up to 1 quadrillion (1,000 trillion) connections. Over time, these neurons can combine and further increase storage capacity.

4. The brain isn’t fully formed until age 25.

5. About 60% of the brain is made of fat, making it the fattiest organ in the body.

As I type this, I am in awe of all we ask of ourselves.

In what way can you give your brain credit for the magic at its work?

We have a lot of expectations of its ability. Be kind to yourself and take notice. You have talents, strengths and qualities that make you beautifully you. And sometimes there are struggles when the brain isn’t working as we believe it should, or society tells us it should.

I’m fascinated about how my brain serves me and I’m learning to give it more credit for the life it’s creates. I’ve been a hater of my memory, so I get it!

Stay posted if you want to know more about how you can intercept your brain’s way of going… especially if it isn’t serving you the way you want.
