🌂 What tools do you have to protect yourself from the storms in your life? Inevitably we all weather storms at one time or another. Do you have what you need today for what you are in the midst of now or what could be on your radar before you have a chance to take cover? I know I did not. I had that “mama’s intuition,” though. I knew my kids were struggling. We were in a storm daily. I knew that they were working harder to fit in and to conform. Even conform within what I believed they “should” be like at their ages. I didn’t know what I didn’t know until I knew. ☹ It has taken me a great deal of personal work to move through the “Mom Guilt” that came with my family’s ADHD journey. The gift it has given me is beautiful people in my life that color my world in a brighter way than I ever knew would be possible. This journey has led me to want to create a ripple in ADHD stigma. Today, I hold out an umbrella to you, as a certified ADHD Life Coach. My journey to open our world to the wealth within ADHD and to slay the stigma of related symptoms is through my voice and heart. As a clever young client of mine reminded me with a chuckle, “As they say knowledge is power.”

So what do I know? It takes many parents and adults up to 2 years to get a final diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)? Parents often struggle to get the help they need for their kids. It took me five years before my bug was officially diagnosed with ADHD. Often adults are first diagnosed with depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder before they are finally treated for their ADHD. Such a hard journey. To be diagnosed, symptoms must be present in at least two different areas of life like, school/work and home. Teachers are required to make an assessment and the symptoms of ADHD must have ill effects on daily living for at least 6-months. Some teachers are uncomfortable with the process. Some parents struggle with accepting a label for their child. Companions must be involved in getting a diagnosis. It’s hard to make that assessment knowing its carried stigma. Quite a bit of suffering is endured before treatment can even begin. And research shows that treatment may be lifelong.

Are you under your umbrella in a storm? Is it protecting you from the 💨 wind and rain💦 pulling you inside out? Do you feel like you have tried everything, and this is just how it’s going to be? Don’t give up on yourself, your loved one, or your child. There is hope in the steps you can take to move forward.

ADHD Life Coaching helps you work with your different abilities or to understand how to be a companion or parent of someone you love who has ADHD. I help people struggling with or without ADHD get what they are needing. I understand the brain and the walls that prevent success. Follow your 🧡 heart. Don’t confuse the voices in your head that tell you that you can’t be a better version of yourself. Dealing with ADHD is hard. It takes consistent work. And, what we know about ADHD is that the only thing consistent is the inconsistency of ADHD. Change doesn’t have to be a dirty word. Change won’t happen overnight. The human brain is capable of molding with continued growth in self-awareness. We are taught from an early age to not be selfish. But what if choosing yourself now will break up the storm around you. Choose “you” today and reach out to find out more about the path towards your met needs through Life Coaching with me.

Thank you for your attention.

Sincerely,

Coach Cindy
